Dusan Vlahovic spent much of the summer being linked with a move to the Premier League.
Manchester City were said to be keen, seeing the Fiorentina player as an alternative option as they worked to get Harry Kane from Tottenham. Over at Spurs, the striker was one of the men said to be a consideration in the event the England captain got his move to Pep Guardiola’s side.
Kane stayed with Spurs, but Tottenham links continue in the Italian media. Calciomercato.com have reported for the second time in two days that the London club remain interested, and Calciomercato.it back that up, saying the player is ‘in the sights’ of the Premier League side.
That’s no surprise, given his good start to the season. The 21-year-old has five goals in his four matches so far for La Viola, and that adds to the 21 goals he scored during the last campaign.
Fiorentina have been working to extend Vlahovic’s contract, given it expires in June 2023. The club’s president Rocco Commisso has spoken about the situation this week, and said he’s “neither positive nor negative”, which has been taken by the Italian media as a hint that a contract signing isn’t close to happening.
The coming months will be ‘decisive’, say Calciomercato.it, and Tottenham will surely be keeping an eye on the situation.
