Sunday’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport has dashed any hopes Chelsea of signing Miralem Pjanic from Juventus this summer.
Over the past week or so the player has been linked with a move to Barcelona, and it’s certainly caught the attention of the Catalan sport media.
Nelson Semedo could be sent the other way as part of the deal, with clubs around Europe looking at how they can bring transfer costs down this summer.
Semedo is thought to fancy the move to Juve over Manchester City, and it’s now claimed Pjanic isn’t keen to move to England either.
Chelsea interest is covered, yet it’s stated Pjanic has no intention of trying his luck in the Premier League. The 30 year old is said to feel Spanish football, and namely Barcelona, would suit him better at this stage of his career.
He’s ‘used to Latin culture’, and would therefore find it harder to adapt both on and off the pitch if he decided to move to Chelsea.
