Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles is close to leaving the club, according to Spanish outlet Marca today, and Huddersfield Town are keen.
They report the 27-year-old has recently rejected an offer to extend his contract at Goodison Park and should be heading back to his home country soon, even though he still has one year left on his deal with Everton.
Along with Huddersfield, four Spanish sides have shown interest in him: Deportivo La Coruña, Getafe, Malaga and Las Palmas. But as the two latter ones have just signed new goalkeepers, they are now ruled out.
La Coruña are still an option on the table, and Getafe could attract Robles especially for being his youth club, as he sees the move with ‘good eyes’. Marca make it sound like the player’s agent has been working on the options, but no talks with Everton are mentioned.
Huddersfield Town have also made an approach and invited the goalkeeper to join the club. However, Robles’ plan is really to return to Spain.
