On September 8th, we covered a report from Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who claimed AC Milan are interested in Cesc Fabregas and the midfielder would first find out if he is included in Maurizio Sarri’s plans at Chelsea.
Since then, not a lot has changed for the 31-year-old, who has seen his playing time at Stamford Bridge being limited and hasn’t featured in the Premier League this season. So far, he’s played the full 90 minutes only on one occasion and that came in his side’s Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool.
According to Catalan newspaper Sport, the former Barcelona man’s future could now be away from the west London club after not finding his way into his manager’s plans.
The Blues added Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic to their squad and the former, along with N’Golo Kante, are untouchable at the club. In addition to this, the English club’s coach also has the services of Ross Barkley, meaning Fabregas is way down the pecking order.
Due to his current situation, the Spaniard is ‘very seriously’ considering leaving Chelsea as he has less than a year left on his contract.
The report claims the player would have already started looking for options and has not ruled out the option of wearing the shirt of another club in England, while a return to Spain or a move to the US have also not been ruled out.
Sarri’s side would be looking to cash in from his sale in January rather than allowing him to leave for free and he should not be short of offers, either at the start of next year or at the end of the season.
