If Youri Tielemans were to leave this summer, then there’s no denying that Leicester City will need to buy a new midfielder.
The Belgian remains instrumental to Brendan Rodgers’ side regardless of the type of form they are in this season, and with a chance of winning the Conference League well and truly still alive, it could be the perfect send off for the player.
Should he leave, then one man who is being looked at, according to Stade Rennais Online, is Benjamin Bourigeaud.
The Stade Rennais midfielder has been one of the more consistent and important players for the Ligue 1 club this season, scoring 10 goals and assisting another 15 in 44 appearances in all competitions, and could be the ideal experienced replacement for Tielemans.
At 28, he’s been around the block in France, and with Leicester reportedly interested, this could be his chance to move to a more competitive league and earn himself more money in the process.
Stade Rennais Online claim the player is ‘appreciated’ by the Foxes, with Brendan Rodgers ‘seduced by the performances’ during the two teams’ clashes in the Conference League.
Leicester’s precarious position in the Premier League means European football might not be guaranteed next season unless they are victorious in the ECL, and while they are normally used to signing younger players, the website claim they could ‘be tempted by the more experienced profile’ Bourigeaud has to offer.
