When Marlos Moreno signed for Manchester City, he did so with great fanfare. The Colombian had impressed with Atletico Nacional, was already a full international, and it was felt he was all set for the next stage in his exciting career.
That stage was to be at Deportivo La Coruna, who Manchester City immediately loaned the player out to. However, things didn’t quite kick off for Marlos at Depor and the loan didn’t carry on into this season, with the 21 year old going to FC Girona instead.
Marlos hasn’t had any impact at City’s partner so far this season, struggling even to get in Girona’s matchday squads. Sport have had a look at the situation, spoken to the player, and it turns out Marlos is ready to ‘battle’ for his future.
“I still have a lot of battle in me,” Marlos is quoted as saying, and Sport say the youngster’s aim remains to wear Manchester City’s shirt.
Before that, he’s simply got to show his level at Girona, and to do that he needs to be given chances.
Marlos added: “I feel good, calm. I don’t play, but I know that I will end up getting the opportunity and when this happens, I will do anything to take advantage of it.
“Patience and courage go well, like the first day. This is fundamental for any player. I cannot despair, but be aware that someday, sooner rather than later, my moment will come.”
Manchester City will surely be watching closely.
