Bryan Gil was one of the new faces to arrive at Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
Spurs signed the 20-year-old from Sevilla and as a part of the operation, they allowed Erik Lamela move in the opposite direction.
The Argentine, who spent eight seasons at the north London club, has started his life in La Liga on a brighter note, scoring three goals in three matches.
AS interviewed the former AS Roma man, where he expressed his delight over his good start at Sevilla following his struggles at Tottenham last season.
“Luckily, I got off to a good start. We have taken seven points out of nine. I have changed my scene to get to a new club, it is another challenge. I didn’t play much last year. But now I feel happy and when one is happy things usually go well,” Lamela said.
“They had already spoken highly of the club to me. I like the mentality, the desire there is and the commitment. Win La Liga? We have to go game by game, face each game as if it were the last and try to score points.”
The Spanish newspaper quizzed the 29-year-old about his signing for Sevilla, which also saw Gil join Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
Asked if he knew about the new Spurs player, Lamela explained: “No. They spoke highly of him [Gil] to me. He has great potential; he is very young. As soon as this possibility arose, I was very excited. I really wanted to come.”
The South American was also asked to give any advice for the 2020 Olympic Silver medal winner.
“Let him [Gil] buy an umbrella (laughs). Seriously, enjoy yourself, because the Premier League is an incredible league. I saw him in a match and he has a lot of future ahead of him. Tottenham are a good group, they will receive you well,” Lamela added.
