Torino manager Ivan Jurić and technical director Davide Vagnati have made new contacts with Leicester City’s Dennis Praet over a potential move in January, as per Tuttosport.
The midfielder returned to the King Power Stadium after spending the previous season on loan at the Serie A side.
He was keen to leave the Foxes in the last window, but the Turin club offered little while Leicester kept asking for more money.
The 28-year-old has made four starts in all competitions this season and is ‘ready to bang his fist on the Leicester table’ to free himself from the Premier League side. After the new contacts, he is again a topic of discussion at the Turin club.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are open to letting the player leave and dropped their asking price to €9m. They are not taking into consideration a loan deal with an option to buy but will let him leave if there is a mandatory purchase option with no conditions attached to it.
Torino are not willing to reach this figure. They feel the Belgium international should be valued less than this because he has not played regularly and has a contract until 2024, which includes a €2.5m per year salary.
Praet is ‘ready to give up a lot of money’ to leave Leicester for the Italian club in the winter market.
Jurić’s side want to offer Praet a deal until 2026 and a salary less than €2m per year, closer to €1.5m.
In short, he is ready to give up €1m a year to seal a return to Torino.
Time should tell whether Torino can agree a deal with Leicester to carry out Praet’s signing in January.
