You might have heard on the grapevine that Tottenham are very close to signing Cristian Romero from Atalanta.
The Argentine quickly became the number one target for Spurs and Fabio Paratici as soon as Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed manager, and all efforts were focused on getting a transfer over the line.
That appears to nearly be done, with an offer of €50m + €5m, after Atalanta made his loan from Juventus permanent against a fee of €16m.
A lovely profit for the Serie A side, who have turned once again to the Turin side for his replacement, targeting Merih Demiral on a loan with a view to buy at €28m.
Corriere dello Sport make the situation very clear, stating Romero is ‘ready to pack his suitcase’ with destination London, where Tottenham have ‘convinced’ Atalanta with a fee (aforementioned above) to which the Italians ‘could not say no’.
This, therefore, appears to be right around the corner, and the player appears to just be waiting for the go-ahead.
