Even though there haven’t been many updates on Porto’s pursuit of Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos lately, the Portuguese media makes sure to say this saga is far from over.

Newspaper Correio da Manhã today features a story saying the Dragons ‘still haven’t given up on the signing’.

They say this chase should ‘soon get to know some developments’, ‘especially’ because Rangers are about to know if they’ll qualify for the Champions League’s group stage or not.

Following Steven Gerrard’s side losing 2-1 to Malmo last night, they now must get a win in Glasgow to secure a place in the competition and probably convince Morelos of staying at the club.

It’s pointed out that Morelos has already told Rangers he’d like to go somewhere else, but his decision ‘could be reversed’ in case the club qualify for the Champions League group stage.

Correio da Manhã says Porto have been following the striker for a long time, and continue to ‘gather efforts’ to get his signing done. Still the Dragons will ‘never’ reach the €15m plus bonuses that’s been demanded by Rangers, and count on those other arguments to get the signing done.
