Over the past week or so, Liverpool and Real Madrid have been pushed forward as the two main contenders for Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Paris Saint-Germain have been credited with an interest in the AS Monaco star, but the Reds and the Spanish champions are ahead in the transfer race.

That’s according to RMC Sport, who provide an update on the efforts made by both Liverpool and Los Blancos to sign the 22-year-old this summer.

It’s claimed the France international has ‘reached an agreement’ with Jürgen Klopp’s side and also the La Liga winners. The two sides are ‘now negotiating’ with Monaco to seal the transfer.

The report further adds the midfielder will ‘make his choice’, on whether to join Liverpool or Real Madrid, before the end of this week.

Over at PSG, Kylian Mbappé has asked the club’s leaders to ‘do everything to attract’ his France teammate to the Parc des Princes. Luis Campos is reportedly set to be the Paris club’s new sporting director.

RMC Sport state that Campos ‘returned to the charge in recent hours with the key to a very interesting financial prospects’. Over at Monaco, their sporting director Paul Mitchell is ‘asking for €80m’ for Tchouaméni, who doesn’t favour a move to PSG.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are the two clubs battling it out for the Frenchman’s signature. Tchouaméni has an agreement with these two sides and a decision on where he will move next should be made before the end of this week.
