Having already bolstered their midfield with Cheick Doucouré, Crystal Palace are now on the verge of adding a centre-back to their squad.
That man is Chris Richards, currently at Bayern Munich, but not for long.
This is according to Sky Germany, relayed by Fussball Transfers, who report the player ‘may be facing a final departure’ from the Bavarian side, because he has ‘already reached an agreement with Crystal Palace’.
Loaned to Hoffenheim last season, where the 22-year-old played regularly, the player was also a target for the Bundesliga side, but they appear set to lose out to the Eagles.
That’s because ‘everything points to a move to England’ for the young American, who appears on the verge of a move to Crystal Palace.
Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenburg then took to Twitter to provide a bit more, saying the clubs now ‘have to find an agreement’, with ‘negotiations ongoing’.

Signed from the Dallas Academy back in 2019, the player made 10 appearances in all competitions for Bayern Munich, and made 34 for Hoffenheim last year, scoring one goal and assisting another two.
