It appears that no matter what Juventus do at this stage, Arthur wants to leave Turin in the near future and head to Arsenal.
That’s what Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting on Wednesday, claiming that despite Max Allegri trying to play him as much as possible (he started in the 4-1 win over Sampdoria in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday evening), the Brazilian wants a move to the Gunners in January.
It’s made clear Arsenal are ‘pressing’ to sign the midfielder, and ‘have proposed a six-month loan’ to bring him to the Emirates until the end of the season.
However, Federico Cherubini, the Serie A side’s director of football, ‘is demanding a more significant financial commitment’, meaning that if the London side don’t want an ‘obligation to buy’ clause in the deal, then they should at least loan Arthur for 18 months.
But even with Allegri playing the midfielder more than he has ever done before, the former Barcelona man ‘is pressing to pack his bags, flattered by Mikel Arteta and by a possible showcase that will allow him’ to hold onto a spot in the Brazil national team ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
While it’s very well known that Arsenal want Arthur, it certainly appears Arthur very much wants Arsenal at this moment in time too.
