Two days ago, Mundo Deportivo reported that ‘everything indicates’ Denis Suarez of Barcelona is expected to join Arsenal despite low cost demands from the Gunners.
There’s an update about the midfielder in Saturday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo and it’s claimed the two clubs are ‘looking for the formula’ to transfer the 25-year-old.
Unai Emery’s side and the La Liga winners are still negotiating and hope the terms of the deal could be agreed next week as the former Villarreal man has ‘foot and a half’ outside the club.
Due to the lack of funds available at the Emirates, they cannot invest in January, meaning only a loan deal is possible this month, while the Spanish champions are looking to raise funds from the sale of the player.
The only option here is to allow the player join the north London club on a loan deal with a purchase option in the summer, but so far, the two sides are yet to come to an agreement after the first round of talks.
Suarez believes the Premier League side will be a ‘good destination’ for him to relaunch his career and the presence of his former manager and his style of play has made him see the move to Arsenal with good eyes.
For this reason, he’s already rejected offers from other clubs, one of which was also willing to pay the transfer fee in January.
Barcelona are looking at raising €20m from Denis Suarez’s sale, either now or at the end of the season.
