Manchester United have been named as one of the clubs interested in Ousmane Dembélé, ever since they failed to sign him from Barcelona towards the end of summer 2020.
The winger is in his final year of contract and the number of reports linking him to the Red Devils have increased in recent months.
On Thursday, Sport reported the 24-year-old has a ‘succulent offer’ from the Old Trafford club. The Premier League side even ‘promise a transfer bonus’ to both the player and his agent.
A ‘Top Secret’ report from Mundo Deportivo now claim Barca have ‘already sent him an offer as attractive as possible’, but it wasn’t accepted by the former Borussia Dortmund man as it was ‘considered insufficient’.
As things stand, the newspaper states ‘it seems very difficult’ for the France international to continue with the La Liga beyond this season.
Manchester United still have him on their transfer agenda as the newspaper states the attacker is ‘one of the main objectives’ for United next season.
Barca, for their part, are not ready to give up and will try to convince Dembélé his future is at the Camp Nou. However, the player has his ‘head more outside than inside’ the current club, and his ‘future seems closer to the Premier League’.
Manchester United are not the only club in the picture to sign Dembélé. Mundo state Newcastle are keen and are currently ‘in pole position’ to secure his services.
