Two days ago, Gianluca Di Marzio reported Chelsea are interested in signing Sevilla star Jules Koundé this summer.
The Blues wanting to sign the defender was backed up in Spain on Wednesday as ABC Sevilla explained the west London club’s ‘interest is real’.
It was also stated Thomas Tuchel’s side have not yet started talks with the La Liga club.
There seems to be a development on this front as AS on Thursday state the negotiations between the two sides have started.
It’s claimed the Champions League winners want to strengthen their defence and the 22-year-old has become the great ‘object of desire’ for them.
In order to convince Sevilla, Chelsea are willing to offer one or two of their players as part of the deal.
AS relay claims made elsewhere that the Premier League side are planning to offer €35m plus Kurt Zouma to take Koundé. There were also suggestions of including Zouma and Emerson Palmieri in the operation.
However, both these proposals are deemed ‘insufficient’ for Julen Lopetegui’s side, and Sevilla expect a ‘great financial effort’ from Chelsea, if they are to secure the former Bordeaux man’s signature.
To sum it up, Sevilla could be convinced if Chelsea make a ‘better economic offer’ to sign Koundé.
