This week, Manchester City fullback Yan Couto has been linked to Portuguese side Braga, and local reports now come up with a response to the claims.

Newspaper Record features a short story to talk about the rumour, explaining that the signing of the 19-year-old has been ‘suggested’ to club officials.

Braga, however, don’t seem to be interested in the transfer. The outlet writes that he’s not in their plans for the season, turning down any chances of a move.

They still add that according to reports from England, he’s also wanted by Celtic and other clubs from the Portuguese league.

Manchester City signed Yan Couto from Coritiba in a €6m deal last summer. Even though there was some hope from the Brazilian media that he’d get into Pep Guardiola’s team, he was immediately loaned out to Girona, for whom he made 30 appearances last season.

Now even though he could have another chance to impress the coach during preseason, it looks like he’s going out, at least on a loan spell, once again.
