Kiko Casilla is now ‘one step away’ from signing for Leeds United, report Marca on Saturday evening.
The Spanish newspaper say the update is according to their own information, after claims of a possible move to Leeds started in the Yorkshire media.
Marca explain that negotiations are advanced between Real Madrid and the Championship club, and the deal could be closed next week.
Marcelo Bielsa is said to be determined to get the deal done, and the clubs are working together to try and reach an agreement.
Casilla has already given his approval to the switch and therefore it’s just a case of getting the nod from Madrid before the transfer can happen.
Marca believe the goalkeeper could be allowed to leave on a free transfer, or that a nominal transfer fee would do the trick.
The likelihood is that Luca Zidane, Zinedine’s son, would then be recalled to Real Madrid’s first team squad from the Castilla, and become third choice behind Thibaut Courtois and Keylor Navas.
