Hakim Ziyech has failed to cement a regular place in Chelsea’s starting lineup ever since he joined the west London club from Ajax in the summer of 2020.
The attacking midfielder finished his debut season with 15 league starts, while has added four more to the tally this term. In addition to this, he has seven Champions League starts to his name since the start of last campaign.
His situation at Stamford Bridge has seen reports linking the 28-year-old to Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona in recent weeks.
This week’s edition of SportBild have an update on the Morocco international emerging as an option for the Bundesliga side.
It’s claimed the ex-Eredivisie star is ‘not satisfied’ with the limited game time offered by Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea. His situation has caught the attention of BVB as they have identified Ziyech as ‘candidate’ for the mid-season window.
The report adds the German club need an attacking player for the second half of the season and a transfer in January is ‘possible’, if it is a loan deal.
Despite Ziyech now emerging as option for BVB, there’s no mention of whether either him or the Champions League winners are open for a temporary move next month.
