Even though it’s been a while since the Italian media started claiming that Newcastle United are interested in signing of Aaron Ramsey from Juventus, there’s always been a reason why the Magpies are still to make an actual move for the signing.
Now in a new update brought by Calcio Mercato, it’s claimed that the player himself could end up finding a problem with that destination.
They say even though Newcastle are ‘ready’ to bring him back to the Premier League, Ramsey is ‘currently making a wall towards the Magpies’.
The reason for that is the reality of the club’s stature in the present time.
Firstly because of their place in the Premier League, as they should spend the rest of the season fighting relegation, and then because he’d like a club who ‘at least’ play in European competitions.
While Newcastle seem to have difficulties with the signing, it’s Crystal Palace who reportedly edge closer on signing the Welsh midfielder, as reports from the Italian media today claim that Patrick Vieira made a call for the transfer.
Of course, Palace aren’t exactly fighting for a European place, so perhaps being based in London goes in their favour.
Juventus, who barely used the 31-year-old this season, will be looking to facilitate a deal.
