Eintracht Frankfurt defender William Pacho has insisted he is not thinking about a move away from the club just yet, despite reports Newcastle could make a move for him.
The defender has been speaking to BILD about his situation and the potential of a move to the Premier League in the near future.
A report last week indicated that several clubs are keeping an eye on the 22-year-old, who has been impressing for Frankfurt since a €9m move from Royal Antwerp in the summer.
His performances have seemingly not gone unnoticed, and it was claimed that Newcastle are one of the sides keeping an eye on him, with it even said it would not be surprising if they were to make a move in the January transfer window.
Eddie Howe’s side have been beset by injuries this season as they’ve been dealing with the increased rigour of Premier League and European football.
Injuries to Sven Botman and Dan Burn have left them particularly short at centre-back and the belief is that they will enter the market in the January transfer window to try and resolve the situation.
Pacho is believed to be one of the players they’re looking at, but he insists he’s not thinking about a move to Newcastle or anywhere else for now.
“I’m totally happy here at Eintracht Frankfurt,” he told BILD, who say he is being ‘watched closely’, especially in the Premier League.
“This is a big club and I’m happy to be here. I’ve just really arrived and I’m not thinking at all about the distant future.
“For me it’s about doing the best possible job to help my team and be successful with Eintracht.”
