Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is reportedly looking for a ‘victorious project’ for the next few years after he leaves the Reds.
According to UOL in Brazil, the player currently has offers from Spain, Italy and his home country as he continues to listen to offers.
Leiva’s contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season, but due to the player’s lack of game time under Jurgen Klopp, he could end up moving out of the club during the January window.
Even though a story from yesterday said a move to Brazilian side Atletico-MG would be unlikely due to the player’s desire to stay in Europe, the narrative is a little different today.
Football director Eduardo Maluf is said to be in constant touch with Leiva’s entourage as he works to convince him to return to Brazil. It’s still not mentioned if Liverpool would ask for a transfer fee in case they let the player go now.
