On February 3rd, we covered claims from Italy regarding the future of Celtic’s Vincent Angelini. The goalkeeper has yet to make an appearance for Neil Lennon’s side, and is some way from that stage given he’s only 17-years-of-age.
Vasilis Barkas, Scott Bain and Conor Hazard are the options Lennon has been rotating at Celtic this season.
Angelini has an Italian father, and Italy’s sport media linked Manchester United, Southampton and Everton with the youngster, with it feeling very much like an agent has been at work hyping the Celtic player’s future.
Given his contract expires at the end of the season, it presents the chance to look around and see what else is available.
Il Milanista cover interest from AC Milan, and they state Angelini has now informed Celtic’s ‘management’ that he doesn’t want to renew his contract and will instead leave at the end of the current campaign.
Milan are looking for a long term succession plan for their goalkeeping position, and that’s where Angelini comes into the picture for them, but again it feels very much like an agent is pushing the Celtic player around potential clubs.
