Earlier today we brought you the news that Brighton and Hove Albion are pushing hard to get a deal for Leganes youngster Youssef En-Nesyri done this summer.
The Seagulls have already seen two proposals for the 22-year-old rejected but are trying to negotiate a deal that would let them avoid having to pay his €20m release clause outright.
AS provide a small update on the player and believe that a move is going to be finalised soon. They say that En-Nesyri was pulled out of Leganes’ friendly today and then go on to state that his move to Brighton is now ‘expected’.
There’s no mention of whether the two clubs have reached an agreement, but the fact he was left sitting out for the friendly speaks volumes.
En-Nesyri is a big player for the club, and they wouldn’t be leaving him out unless something was going on behind the scenes.
Perhaps that was just a cautionary move as the club are expecting an agreement at some point and don’t want to risk it.
