We’re never surprised to see Italian clubs getting linked to Chelsea fullback Emerson Palmieri, as the rumours have been going for a couple of years now.
Now even though most reports don’t look very strong, we finally get to read something interesting from Tuttosport, with the newspaper saying the player is now Inter Milan’s ‘favourite’ target for the left-back position this summer.
The outlet points out that the 26-year-old is currently Chelsea’s third option for his role. What makes it strange is that he’s a starter with the Italian national team.
Tuttosport then says Palmieri ‘is leaving’ the Blues at the end of the season. And the Stamford Bridge side shouldn’t demand more than €12m or €15m for his move.
It’s said Palmieri would like to return to Italy, and something that could favour his move to Inter Milan is the fact that it was Antonio Conte who signed him for Chelsea in January 2018. Now he could reunite with his old boss.
Still, other clubs such as Juventus and Napoli are said to be interested in the signing as well, so Inter should get some competition for this transfer.
Palmieri has only made 14 appearances for Chelsea this season, with only two of those games in the Premier League.
