A few days ago we covered claims that Nikola Vlasic could be set to leave West Ham this summer. The 24-year-old was said to be of interest to Torino and Hajduk Split.
Vlasic joined the Hammers in August 2021, and last season he made 36 appearances for the club. Many of those were brief substitute stints, and the flexible midfielder managed one goal and three assists.
He has a contract with West Ham which lasts until June 2026, and that presents the possibility of a loan move for the coming season.
TMW report that it’s Torino who are closing in on a deal for the player. He’s described as being ‘about to leave’ the London club, and an agreement with the Serie A side is now ‘close’.
Torino manager Ivan Juric is the man behind the club’s interest, keen to sign his fellow Croatian. The switch to the Italian club would be on a loan basis from West Ham.
There’s no indication of what fee Torino would pay, how his wages would be covered, or whether they’d have a purchase clause to sign Vlasic permanently next summer.
