Roma are trying to get ahead of Manchester United to secure midfielder Boubacar Kamara’s signature ahead of the Red Devils.
That’s according to La Repubblica, relayed by Forza Roma, who say the deal will be out of Roma’s reach if they leave things until the summer transfer window.
Kamara is out of contract at Marseille in six months time and so is free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with clubs around Europe next month.
Manchester United have been named as one of the interested parties, but Roma are trying to beat them to the punch.
The French club understand that Roma can do a deal next month that will ensure they get money, which is a far more appealing prospect than Kamara leaving on a free in the summer.
It’s felt they can sit around the table, and ‘finding a solution’ that suits both parties would not be a ‘complicated task’.
Roma have room for manoeuvre and have been talking to the player’s agent for days, but Manchester United remain a problem.
Kamara ‘knows perfectly well’ that they are keen and in a position to offer him a ‘higher salary’ than what the Giallorossi will be able to offer him.
That puts Ralf Rangnick and co. at the front of the queue for his signature, but Roma and Mourinho are going to try and beat Manchester United nonetheless.
