After being on the bench more than a month, Kepa Arrizabalaga returned to Chelsea’s starting XI in the last two matches before football was suspended due to the Coronavirus crisis.
Frank Lampard’s decision to drop the Spain international has resulted in several rumours suggesting the Blues would be looking to bring in a new goalkeeper for next season.
Sport claims ‘an exit for Kepa could trigger a movement’ of keepers in Europe.
The Catalan newspaper further explains Ajax’s André Onana has emerged as an option for the Premier League side and the Cameroon international is ‘probed’ by Chelsea.
Barcelona are also not losing sight of Onana, and he could become the La Liga winners’ second choice goalkeeper.
Although Chelsea are looking at Onana, Sport adds he ‘would be delighted to return to Barca’. This may not be well received by Lampard’s side, who are one of the clubs interested in the Ajax custodian.
Onana’s contract with the Dutch champions lasts until 2022 and they are aware of his intention to not to continue with them.
Ajax value Onana around €40m, but they are ‘open to negotiate’ a price for his transfer.
