Former West Ham defender Fabian Balbuena has insisted he is not out to get ‘revenge’ on the club after his departure this summer.
The Paraguayan centre-back brought an end to a three-year spell with West Ham this summer when his contract expired at the London Stadium.
He’s since made a surprise move to Dynamo Moscow in Russia, despite having been heavily linked with a move to rejoin former West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini at Real Betis for much of the summer.
He’ll be hoping to get more game time in Russia than he managed at West Ham last year, when he was sparingly used by manager David Moyes throughout their impressive campaign.
Indeed, it could have been said he will be looking to prove a point to his former employers with his new club and show he was worth more of a chance than he was given.
He, though, has insisted that is not the case and looks back on his time in England with nothing but fondness.
“I don’t think I’m looking for revenge,” he told GEN and Radio Universo 970 AM, relayed by Versus.
“I didn’t get to play as much as I wanted to; the ones I did play, I did relatively well.
“I take my time at West Ham as very positive because of the experience and knowledge I learnt there. I was always at the coach’s disposal.”
