Alex Telles has managed 13 goals and registered 48 assists in all competitions since he joined FC Porto in 2016.
According to Calciomercato, the 26-year-old’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed as Liverpool have set their sights on the left-back.
It’s claimed the Merseyside club view him as an ‘alternative’ to Andrew Robertson at Anfield.
Telles’ contract at Porto expires in 2021, meaning he will only have a year left on his current deal next summer, if he and his employer fail to find an agreement over an extension before the end of this season.
Jürgen Klopp has Robertson as the only recognised left-back in the squad following Alberto Moreno’s exit.
James Milner, who mainly operates as a midfielder, can also play on the left side of the defence, but he will turn 34 in January and is in his final year of contract at Liverpool.
The Reds will need to sign a new left-back next summer and considering Telles’ ability to score and assist regularly, he could be an ideal player for them
