Even though the Portuguese press continues to follow the case closely, it seems that Sporting are not advancing much with the idea of signing Sandro Ramirez from Everton this month.
Newspaper A Bola is the one keeping an eye on the subject. They first reported the interest, and yesterday published quotes from both Sandro and his agent, both denying any contact with Sporting.
Today, A Bola brings an update taking claims from the Spanish press to say that Celta Vigo and Sevilla would be providing some heavy competition.
Sporting manager Jorge Jesus likes Sandro so much that he doesn’t even care the player won’t be able to play in Europe for them. He thinks that the Spaniard would fit the team perfectly.
Regarding the talks, it seems things haven’t advanced so far. Sporting will have problems both convincing Everton and the player.
The Toffees won’t let him go so cheaply, and his big wages, which the Lions can’t afford, would also be a an issue.
