Aston Villa loaned out Samuel Iling-Junior to Bologna only weeks after signing him from Juventus.
The move to the Rossoblu went through quite late in the transfer window but it handed the Englishman another fresh start.
On his debut for Vincenzo Italiano’s side, the signing from Villa delivered. And he scored the side’s last-ditch equaliser, as Bologna had found themselves 2-0 down in the second half.
Il Resto del Carlino have hailed the 20-year-old’s showing at the weekend, stating that he was ‘fresh and decisive’ against Como. They mention that Iling-Junior has ‘turned the tables’ after an uncertain situation in the summer and could now be ready to star for Bologna.
The newspaper, local to the Italian club, state Unai Emery had ‘rejected’ Iling-Junior and they also criticise the Villans for their management of the talent.
The situation has been described as ‘surreal’ but they paint the winger as someone who has managed to stand tall amidst the difficulty.
