Mousa Dembele has one year left on his contract at Tottenham Hotspur and the midfielder has been linked with a move away from the north London club.
We carried multiple reports talking about interest from the Serie A, with Inter Milan, Juventus, AS Roma and Napoli all believed to be keen on securing the Belgium international’s signature. Sky Italia even caught the player’s agents Tom De Mul and Yaya Sharifi at the Nerazzurri’s headquarters.
Dembele’s representative has already revealed his client will not sign a new deal with Mauricio Pochettino’s side. If the Premier League club fail to cash in from his sale this summer, they could lose him for nothing a year later.
The former Fulham man has opened the door for a move to China, while admitting that he has held talks with his compatriots Axel Witsel and Yannick Carrasco regarding the Chinese Super League. However, Dembele stressed that he will not join another club in England.
“I am not going to say that I’m leaving Spurs right now. Or that I’m staying. If I leave, I won’t join another English club. Tottenham is my team. I like football. I am an adventurer and I am open to everything,” Dembele told Het Laatste Nieuws.
“Whether I have already spoken to Witsel and Carrasco about what it is like to play in China? (Laugh) If someone would play in Bangladesh, I am also very interested in that, I would also like to know how those people are there, what life is like, how the pitches are there… I’m not going to deny that I’ve already talked with Yannick and Axel about China.”
Dembele is currently with Belgium at the 2018 World Cup. Roberto Martinez’s side started their campaign in Russia on a bright note with a 3-0 victory over Panama.
