Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has told the Turkish media he expects to be playing for the Istanbul club next season.
The German is currently on a two year loan deal with Besiktas but there have been reports in the past few months he could return to Anfield this summer.
Karius has spoken after Besiktas 2-1 loss to Trabzonspor last night and confirmed, as covered by Fotomac, he’s likely to continue with Besiktas beyond this season: “This is a team game. I must not forget this, I am disappointed. Maybe we could have got a point. We have another game and a game to win.
“Then we will continue our preparations. I think that if all parties are happy and satisfied, I will continue. My contract with Besiktas continues.”
Karius had a poor start to his loan spell with Besiktas and his personal life has been criticised in the Turkish press.
This has led to claims the Istanbul club could bring in Fulham goalkeeper Fabri to replace him.
However, in recent weeks the Liverpool loanee has been impressive form leading to fresh reports Besiktas are having second thoughts about the player and could now decide to keep for the next campaign.
The Super Lig club also have an option to make his move permanent at the end of next season.
