Even with Brighton & Hove Albion’s late offer to bring Victor Camarasa from Real Betis to the Premier League, it seems they never really got very close to completing the signing.
After confirming his stay at the Spanish side, the 23-year-old has spoken to the local press about the chance to leave the club in the January window, but claimed that this possibility was never in his mind.
Camarasa was interviewed by EFE, and it’s El Desmarque who brings his quotes saying “his only thoughts are about Bétis’.
The player confirmed that “there was the possibility to leave”, but “between all, the club and me”, they concluded that “it’s best to continue to contribute to achieving the proposed objectives and to finish the project started”.
El Desmarque adds that Brighton’s offer for Camarasa was €10m, quite a decent amount, especially for a player who wasn’t being used much. But despite his wish to play in the Premier League, he was really focused on doing his best for Betis.
Quite a difficult argument to buy, though.
