Liverpool are ‘happy’ with midfielder Arthur Melo, and he is expected to ‘gain prominence’ in Jurgen Klopp’s side after the international break.
That’s according to AS, who say that rumours about an early exit and Klopp being disappointed in the Brazilian are wide of the mark.
They insist that the player’s time at Liverpool ‘has only just begun’ after arriving as a surprise signing on the final day of the summer transfer window.
He’s not had it easy thus far, though, with a lack of training time with his new team proving to be a ‘handicap’ for the player.
He’s therefore had to ‘take advantage’ of the early stages of the season to try and get up to speed, at the cost of not playing more regularly.
That has fuelled rumours about Liverpool being unhappy with him but AS insist that is not the case.
Instead, Arthur is ‘expected to gain prominence’ after the international break and Klopp has even been seen ‘personally congratulating’ the midfielder on the effort he is putting in to make up for lost time.
The last two weeks have seen the player doing ‘everything possible’ to be ready and get up to the same physical level as the rest of the squad.
He’ll continue to do that during the break, particularly as he is not in Brazil’s squad, and has even elected to stay in Liverpool to finish his training rather than taking a holiday.
Whether he can feature for the Reds moving forwards remains to be seen, but as far as AS are concerned any rumours about Liverpool being unimpressed aren’t to be considered.
