Back in January, Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra spoke to the South American press and expressed his wish to change clubs this summer.
“In June I’d like to change air. It’s already been said, so we’ll see what happens,” said the midfielder in an interview with Fox Sports.
It only took a few hours after Watford’s relegation to the Championship for the Argentine media to bring back those quotes.
Website El Intransigente has a big story wondering if it’s time for Pereyra to return to Argentina and sign again River Plate, for whom he played between 2008 and 2011.
They say the relegation will make Pereyra think a lot about his future at Watford, and that’s why he could consider his comeback to the Millonario.
Considering the player is only 29 years of age, he could still have a few more years in Europe before going back to Argentina.
But that’s a decision which is only up to him.
