It seems Manchester City have changed their minds during negotiations for the transfer of Pedro Porro to Sporting.

Since the Portuguese press started reporting the talks for the right-back, it’s been claimed that the Premier League side would only want to loan him out, since Pep Guardiola would like to give the player chance in the future.

However, according to newspaper Record today, things have changed a little. It’s said that Manchester City were ‘outright against’ a buying option for Sporting at first, but the Lions should get this clause now.

The outlet claims the transfer is now ‘imminent’, because although Real Bétis were also interested in the signing, the Lisbon side managed to get ahead in their pursuit of the player.

Signed by Manchester City in a €18m deal from Girona last summer, Porro never had a chance to play for the Premier League side.

He was first loaned to Osasuna, where he spent the current season, having made 15 appearances for the club. Now it seems he’s off to Portugal, and may never return to Pep Guaridola’s side.
