Anel Ahmedhodžić left Nottingham Forest and returned to Malmö FF in January 2019 and six months later, he was sent out on loan to Hobro IK in Denmark.
Since returning to Malmö earlier this year, the centre-back has been a regular fixture in his side’s back four and his performances have attracted attention from Chelsea, according to reports from Sweden.
Earlier this month, Aftonbladet interviewed the 21-year-old and his agent, Markus Rosenberg, but both refused to comment on reported interest from the Blues.
According to Calciomercato, the defender’s profile has ended up on the list of Chelsea and AC Milan, who are monitoring his growth and development with the Swedish club under the guidance of Jon Dahl Tomasson.
It’s claimed the Bosnia and Herzegovina international is valued at €10m by his club and if he’s sold for that figure, he will be Malmö’s record sale, breaking the current record of €8m paid by Ajax for Zlatan Ibrahimović in 2001.
Ahmedhodžić, for his part, has held talks with his agent and isn’t considering a move elsewhere because he wants to ‘grow and mature in Sweden.’ The website, however, adds a transfer is ‘only a matter of time’.
Whether Ahmedhodžić will join Chelsea, Milan or another club in the future remains to be seen.
