On Wednesday, Sport explained Bournemouth are keen to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Neto.
Arriving at the Camp Nou in 2019, the 33-year-old has failed to establish himself and has made only 21 appearances in all competitions over the last three seasons.
Bournemouth have come forward to take the keeper and the deal is progressing well.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who explain the former Valencia man ‘advances with Bournemouth’. It’s even said the Brazilian is ‘getting closer to the Premier League’.
Neto is represented by Kia Joorabchian and the agent was ‘still negotiating’ with Scott Parker’s side yesterday. The newspaper further adds the ‘deal is expected to close today’.
Although he had options to continue in La Liga or return to Serie A, Neto has finally opted to join the newly promoted Premier League side because he was attracted by the idea of playing in England.
This is why he ‘didn’t hesitate’ to give his approval to Bournemouth, even though Mundo state they are not a top-level club.
Neto trained with Barca on Wednesday and will continue to do so, until Xavi Hernández’s side find an agreement with the English club for his transfer.
