Patryk Klimala is expected to sign for Celtic this week, and in Denmark there’s now an acceptance FC Copenhagen have lost out in favour of the Scottish Premiership club.
FCK had been interested in the Jagiellonia Białystok striker since before Christmas, but, for a Danish audience it’s explained the player has ‘decided to move to Celtic’.
It’s Ekstra Bladet bringing the news, and they explain they’ve also contacted Polish sources who have backed it all up. FCK have been ‘beaten’, and it’s not thought there’s any way for them to now scupper Celtic’s impending deal.
Celtic are thought to be paying around £3m for the transfer and whilst that wouldn’t normally be out of FCK’s range, they don’t have the available budget for manager Ståle Solbakken.
More money was spent in the summer than had been expected, and that’s left them short for the winter market.
This is all good news for Celtic, and if the Polish striker has decided to move there anyway then FCK’s budgetary issues are largely irrelevant.
