Swansea City forward Bafétimbi Gomis has confirmed his agent has been in talks with Marseille with regards to remaining at the club. Gomis is currently on loan with the Ligue 1 side from Swansea City.
Speaking to L’Equipe, Gomis was asked about his future and whether he would be remaining in France for next season.
The Frenchman said there’s chance he will stay at Marseille, and that this agent is working on this. The Swansea City outcast revealed Marseille’s manager doesn’t want him to return to England, but a deal is still far away.
“It’s a possibility. OM met with my representatives, I also spoke a little with the coach. He clearly told me he wants to pursue this adventure with me. After that, it depends on a lot of things, it is still too early to go into details,” said Gomis.
If Swansea City stay in the Premier League then the 31-year-old may look to force himself into the plans of manager Paul Clement should his Marseille adventure come to an end.
Gomis’ goalscoring record at Marseille has been good and interest in his services will be high if he doesn’t return to Swansea City.
