Sunderland new signing Mika has flown to England today. After FIFA approved the transfer, which was registered after the deadline due to a problem with someone’s technology, it was now time the say farewell to his old club Boavista.
On a few posts on Facebook, the goalkeeper said: “I’ll be a Black Cat. They introduced me an interesting challenge and I am ready for this new reality that I will face in the Premier League. Thank you to those who believe.”
“Now that my move to Sunderland AFC is official, I’d like to thank all the people who made this dream come true”.
After thanking all the people from the club, Mika also praised his agent: “But none of this would be possible without the intervention of Caesar Bonaventura, which was unsurpassed in order to deal with my situation and turn my childhood dream into a reality.”
Bonaventura had a few words with the newspaper Record and said: “It will be an extraordinary opportunity for Mika, because he’s still young and has everything to be happy at Sunderland – now it only depends on him.”
He thanked Boavista for “all the efforts made” and said that “the role of the Portuguese Football Federation was very important”.
Mika signed a two-year contract on a permanent deal. He’s David Moyes’ tenth arrival of the transfer window.
