Sandro Ramirez is coming to the fore in more ways than one. Scoring his debut goal for Everton on Thursday night, in a great move rightly overshadowed by Atalanta’s five goals, it’s a little light at the end of an increasingly long and dark tunnel.
But Sandro may be offered an escape hatch in January, with Sport saying the striker is also ‘coming to the fore’ as far as Espanyol transfer options are considered.
The Spanish club are said to be looking for an addition upfront and the Everton striker is named alongside Real Madrid youngster Borja Mayoral.
Former Malaga striker Sandro could be forgiven for wanting to escape his Everton experience as quickly as possible. As hard as it is to believe now, Sandro moved to Goodison Park with hopes he could do well in the Premier League and perhaps see that force him into Spain’s national squad.
It would now take something of a plague among Spanish strikers for Sandro to have any chance, and even then he needs to be playing every week and scoring goals.
There’s no mention of the potential type of deal, but Espanyol won’t be the only Spanish club keen if Sandro wants to leave and then manages to force his way out.
