One of the players Barcelona are looking to sign next summer is Frenkie de Jong of Ajax.
The front page of Mundo Deportivo has a headline ‘De Jong Closer’ in today’s edition of the Catalan newspaper, while it’s further mentioned in the story that the La Liga winners have already made an offer for the 21-year-old.
It’s no secret the midfielder will be in demand in the next summer market and the Netherlands international and the Blaugrana are in ‘full negotiation’. The offer made is ‘significant’, but not exorbitant.
The sporting leaders of the club have already met the Dutchman’s agent, Ali Dursun, earlier this month and after analysing international, Barca have made a proposal to the player’s representative.
Mundo mentions the offer made is in line with what the agent had asked for his client, but the figure includes variables.
The report claims the offer made by Ernesto Valverde’s side is liked by the player, but they are now waiting for De Jong’s final decision.
Ajax have set a €70m asking price for De Jong and have already given him the green signal to negotiate with clubs interested in securing his signature.
There’s renewed optimism at the Camp Nou that the Eredivisie star will join them.
