Maryan Shved plays for Ukrainian side Karpaty Lviv and was one of the academy graduates promoted to the first team from the club’s youth system.
For two years between he was with Sevilla’s B team before rejoining Karpaty Lviv in 2017, when he signed a three-year deal with them.
This term, he’s scored eight goals and registered two assists in 17 league appearances and has already drawn attention from Celtic, Leganes, Fenerbahce and Dynamo Kyiv, if reports are to be believed.
According to Ukrainian outlet Sport Arena, Brendan Rodgers’ side have managed to beat competition from other clubs to secure the 21-year-old’s signature and he’s close to joining Celtic.
Karpaty Lviv have travelled to Turkey for friendly fixtures this month and Shved is one of the players left out of the squad and he should ‘soon become’ a Celtic player.
It’s explained the deal is still not sealed, but the two clubs are at the final stage to close the transfer.
