Earlier today, we covered claims from the Italian media which said that even though Roma had an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of Tammy Abraham, there were two issues that could stop the move.
One was the player’s salary demands, and the other was the interest from Arsenal, who had a meeting with his entourage scheduled for tonight.
Now more reports from the local press come to warn how dangerous the Gunners could be for Roma’s pursuit. This time it’s Gazzetta Dello Sport who talks about ‘very important hours’ for the Giallorossi.
They now claim that Chelsea have no agreement with Arsenal yet, as they’re reluctant to negotiate his sale with their London rivals. Plus, people close to the player have been advising Abraham to work with Mourinho at Roma.
However, it’s also stated that the player himself has ‘always dreamed of Arsenal’, and manager Mikel Arteta also called him, telling the striker to wait for the Gunners before taking Roma’s offer.
So even though the Italian side are ‘moderately optimistic’ about the deal, they’re afraid of a potential auction with Arsenal, and don’t want to ‘wait too long’ for the player’s decision.
