Spain have dropped their quarantine requirement, which means you can forget all about the current situation, escape the country, and go and fill up with tapas whilst drowning yourself in Cruzcampo.
It also means agents and club officials can now travel for transfer talks, depending on restrictions in their own country. Sport presents this as something of a boost for Barcelona, who want to get a transfer over the line before the end of the month.
The Catalan newspaper reports Barcelona’s plan is to get a transfer completed next week, and the ‘most advanced case’ is Jean-Clair Todibo. Everton are the club in the picture, and Sport say the Frenchman is ‘already negotiating’ his personal terms with the Merseyside club.
That’s not to say a fee has yet been agreed with Barcelona, with them still demanding €25m and Everton presumably not keen to pay so much. Depending on just how important a quick agreed transfer is for Barca, then the power seems to be on the side of the Toffees.
Todibo has been loaned for the season to Schalke.
Barca’s other option for a quick sale is Philippe Coutinho.
