Over the international break, a lot was made of Tanguy Ndombele and what his future at Galatasaray looked like after a disappointing start on loan from Tottenham.
Multiple reports claimed he had held a meeting with the Turkish side, with the general consensus being that he was ready to prove himself, and that he had impressed with his attitude.
This led to the Tottenham loanee being handed the start against Alanyaspor at the weekend, in a game that ended 4-0 in Galatasaray’s favour, only for Ndombele to be criticised again, this time by Mehmet Demirkol, relayed by GS Gazete.
Talking about the game and looking ahead at the upcoming Champions League clash against Manchester United, the journalist commented on the Frenchman’s performance.
He said: “Ndombele played mediocre against Alanyaspor. Kaan Ayhan will be in the midfield against Manchester United.”
It’s worth pointing out that Ayhan is a centre-back by trade, but he is also able of stepping up and playing as a defensive midfielder.
If true, then that would be a blow for the Tottenham man, who would see himself relegated to the bench in yet another Champions League game, having yet to start one this season.
