There are two reasons why Jorginho is heavily linked to an exit from Arsenal at the end of the season. The first is his contract with the Gunners, which expires in June, and then there’s the fact he’s been of little use lately.
The midfielder has made 15 appearances so far, but many of them have been as a substitute, and he is struggling to guarantee himself a place in Mikel Arteta’s midfield on a fully regular basis.
Fenerbahce are one of the clubs who are said to be interested in taking him from Arsenal, and according to Aksam, they ‘will make a new offer’ for him soon.
The Turkish side’s idea is to sign him as a free agent, which would be seen as a big coup, as the outlet calls him ‘technically world-class’.
It’s worth pointing out that Jorginho’s contract with Arsenal includes an option for a one-year extension, although it’s not clear whether that decision is in his or the club’s hands.
Either way, the possibility of a summer move is clear, with Spanish and Italian clubs also linked.
Aksam writes that his agent ‘wants to push all the conditions’, which means he wouldn’t be a cheap player for Fenerbahce, so we’ll see how strong that offer will be.
